Nice is a stunning city situated on the southern coast of France in the area known as the French Riviera, approximately 20 miles west of the Italian border.

What to do in Nice


Visitors will find plenty to see and do in Nice. The Russian Orthodox Cathedral is an incredibly exotic cathedral. You will, however, find many other outstanding architectural features, including the Cathedral St Reparate and the Lascaris Palace. The Cours Saleya flower market has some beautiful flowers on sale as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

Nice is home to a number of excellent museums. Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Renoir, Kadinsky and Miro are some of the famous artists whose works are displayed in several galleries.

Nice has 19 galleries and museums and a further 32 official historical monuments scattered around the city. For those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Nice offers stunning green areas and parks that contain beautifully decorated water features and 150 lakes.

Crowded by day and vibrant by night, the heart of town is a charming blend of winding streets, and squares boasting numerous buildings dating back to Genoese, Provencal, Medieval and Baroque periods in history. The city is overlooked by Le Château. Beyond this is the port with its pretty Ile de Beaute square.

Nice attracts sunbathers, honeymooners, couples and families as there are attractions to suit all ages. Additionally, the surroundings of Nice are ideal to explore by car. The city is well served by Nice Cote d'Azur Airport.
